Built and Growing at Ventnor Allotment Association at Ventnor Community Ground.
Creating a 'Kitchen Garden'
Our first task, was to construct some raised beds using; hammers and nails as well as, digging and preparing the ground.
We have made 3 Vegetable beds from wood so far and are constructing an upright planter, from recycled, pallett wood. We have learnt and decided that Strawberries, would be suited to this planter due to their sprawling nature. The children learned, that this will help to keep the fruit, at its best!
We have planted Courgettes, Strawberries, Tomatoes, Potatoes and Onions. We have a variety of Herbs..

We were kindly donated some tools: from members of the public, to start our project. THANKYOU
Vision
To create and develop a sustainable kitchen garden to supplement our cookery sessions.
This will expand our skills and give us the opportunity to enjoy an outside space and a new activity.
